Hi, I am Dr. Natasha Asotra and I am so excited to be joining the North Oakville Animal Hospital Team. I was born and raised in Brampton. I completed a Bachelors in Science in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013. After graduating I worked for a couple of years in the Kawartha Lakes enjoying everything that cottage country has to offer including middle of the night C-sections and pulling endless porcupine quills from dogs! But after a couple of years, I yearned for something different so I moved to downtown Toronto. I worked downtown for 9 years as the primary veterinarian and medical director in a clinic that I considered home – the staff like family and the clients and pets apart of my community. It was here that I was really able to expand my experience with complex medical cases and more intricate surgeries. However, in 2022 we welcomed a baby girl into our family and found we outgrew the downtown life and moved west. I am now starting the next chapter in my life and career and I am so grateful to have found a team that I could feel at home with in the staff at North Oakville Animal Hospital. I hope to become a familiar face and I look forward to meeting all of the clients and their furry family members!
As a pet owner myself I understand the impact that pets can have on our lives and I have dedicated my career to helping to strengthen the human-animal bond. I lead with compassion, patience and a soft approach with all of my patients (which usually means lots of treats!). I thoroughly enjoy both medicine and soft tissue surgery.
When I am not working you can find me exploring the area with my husband, my super energetic toddler and our rescue Chi-Pom, Rocky, and when I can get a free moment at home cuddling with my rescue tabby cat, Carter. We love a good hike and even more so a great meal. We are self-proclaimed foodies, so if you have any recommendations please share them with me and watch my face light up!!
