I’m Dr. Jen Dowson, and I hail from Newmarket, Ontario, where I was raised in a family that always had a special place for four-legged members. My journey to becoming a veterinarian began in Grade 6, following the loss of Taffy, my cherished Labrador who battled epilepsy. That pivotal moment steered me toward a career in veterinary medicine, fueled by a desire to make a difference.
I pursued my undergraduate studies in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph, followed by veterinary training at Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College, graduating in the class of 2008.
Joining the NOAH team shortly after graduation has been a fulfilling experience, allowing me to blend my passion for internal medicine with my interests in surgery and, most notably, dentistry. I’m known for my compassionate and soft-spoken nature, and I’m wholeheartedly dedicated to enhancing the lives of my patients and their families.
Outside of work, my time is devoted to my two young children and my husband, creating cherished memories together. Our family is completed by Ellie, our Golden Retriever, and Kitty, our senior cat. My personal interests include reading, hiking, and, admittedly, I have a knack for organizing!
