Nutrition Counselling

Guidance on nutrition to support and maintain your pet's overall health and well-being.

The saying “you are what you eat” is as true for our cherished pets as it is for us humans. Whether your pet is a newborn puppy, a senior cat, 100% healthy or is dealing with some sort of condition, their diet makes a huge impact. We are happy to provide customized nutritional counselling for all our patients to ensure they have the best diet possible to support their development and unique lifestyle needs. Give us a call at 905-257-3700 for more details.

What happens during nutritional counselling for pets?

You will have a one-on-one conversation with one of our veterinarians to discuss your nutritional goals for your pet. We will assess your pet’s current diet, including the formulations of food they eat and their feeding type. After a physical evaluation, we will make recommendations on ways to improve your pet’s diet. Nutritional plans vary from patient to patient.

Is it safe to feed my pet human food?

Yes, although we advise all pet parents to proceed with caution. Some foods are 100% safe for pets, while others can cause adverse reactions and may even be fatal.
