No one can prepare you on how to say goodbye to your cherished pet. As pet parents ourselves, we understand the pain you and your loved ones are going through near the end of your pet’s life. Rest assured euthanasia is the most humane and merciful option for patients, especially those with terminal diseases. Please do not think twice to give us a call at 905-257-3700, for more information on how we can help you through this process.
Do pets feel pain during euthanasia?
Not at all. The process is 100% pain free. First, we will administer the euthanasia drug via IV. It will cause your pet to fall into a peaceful sleep. Once they are unconscious, their organs will begin to fail. The process is over within a matter of minutes.
How do I know when it’s time to euthanize my pet?
Euthanasia is always our last option, considered only when all other medical intervention has been tried and proven ineffective. When a patient has chronic pain or a terminal illness that is no longer responsive to treatment, if they can no longer eat, drink or relieve themselves on their own, euthanasia is the most humane step to take. When it is time to consider this path, please know our veterinarians will have a private conversation with you to help you make the decision that is best for your family.
