Deworming Services

Keep your pet healthy through regular deworming to prevent health issues caused by parasites.

In addition to being gross, intestinal worms can cause major problems for your pet, as well as other animals and people around you. These parasites can invade your pet’s internal organs all year round. Some can even be passed on to you and other humans in your household. Fortunately, regular deworming treatments are a great defensive tool against these creatures. Give us a call at 905-257-3700 to learn which schedule and formulation will be best for your pet.

When should I start deworming my pet?

Pets can be dewormed when they are puppies or kittens. Their first round of deworming usually occurs when they are about 3-weeks-old. They should be dewormed every 2 weeks until they are 3-months-old. Once they grow up, they will need regular deworming all their life. Depending on the specific medication you choose, this may occur 4 times per year, or once every season.

How can I stop my pet from getting worms?

Regular parasite protection medication (taken once every month, or once every few months depending on the specific type you choose) and regular exams are essential. Remember, skipping even just one dose leaves your pet vulnerable to worms and other parasites. It’s always a good idea to dispose of your pet’s waste properly, and wash your hands after you have handled your pet’s waste or litterbox. Also, make sure to stop your pet from going near their feces and those of other animals.
