I’m Dr. Sue Hornemann, and I’ve been a part of the veterinary field since graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1990. I came to NOAH in 2016, bringing with me 26 years of experience from practicing in the Milton and Oakville area. The truth is, I didn’t really ever choose to be a vet; it’s a path I’ve always been drawn to. I don’t remember ever wanting to do anything else and I feel, to this day, that this was what I was meant to do. It’s not what I do, it’s part of who I am.
My professional journey has allowed me to gain extensive experience in all facets of general practice, including emergency and internal medicine, dentistry and surgery (orthopedics included), and pediatrics. My approach is compassionate, soft, and caring, making my patients and their owners feel comfortable and supported. I deeply understand the special bond between pets and their families and aim to foster both professional and personal connections with them.
Outside of work, my life is filled with joy from spending time with my husband, who I met in university, and our two daughters. I’m also an enthusiastic member of the Caledon Riding Club, where I indulge in my passion for horseback riding and enjoy relaxing moments at the barn with friends. My family extends to Tori, our Golden Retriever, Ringo the cat, and a budgie named Jaws. My hobbies include watercolour painting, hiking, and gardening.
